Candidates should have electrical and/or millwright experience, the ability to read schematics, and experience in a federally regulated food facility. Certifications for forklift, pallet jack, and aerial scissor lift are assets.

Qualifications

  • Electrical and/or Millwright experience preferred; certification is an asset.
  • Ability to read schematic drawings and follow technical instructions.
  • Experience in a federally regulated food production/manufacturing facility is an asset.
  • Certification in forklift, pallet jack, and aerial scissor lift operation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and repair all on-site equipment in the Warehouse and Production room.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party maintenance contractors.
  • Respond promptly to operational priorities and maintenance requests.
  • Manage and execute the Preventive Maintenance Program with work orders.
  • Commission new equipment and establish maintenance protocols based on guidelines.
  • Participate in Occupational Health and Safety programs and adhere to safety procedures.
  • Perform occasional light carpentry, welding, and routine plumbing tasks as needed.
  • Ensure equipment and work areas are cleaned and sanitized according to standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized Maintenance Shop to prevent contamination risks.
  • Follow all Food Safety and HACCP guidelines.
  • Control inventory and storage of tools and maintenance supplies.
  • Maintain stock of critical replacement parts to support continuity.
  • Clean tools after use on food-contact surfaces.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot HVAC systems.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Edmonton, A.B. T6B 3N9
Position Summary:

Reporting to the Production Manager or designate, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of all equipment within the Warehouse and Production areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, maintain, and repair all on-site equipment in the Warehouse and Production room.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party maintenance contractors.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to operational priorities and maintenance requests.
  • Manage and execute the Preventive Maintenance Program, including daily, weekly, and monthly work orders.
  • Commission new equipment and establish maintenance protocols based on manufacturer guidelines and risk assessments.
  • Participate in Occupational Health and Safety programs and adhere to all safety procedures.
  • Perform occasional light carpentry, welding, and routine plumbing tasks as needed.
