Maintenance Technician
The primary function of this position is to perform Condition Based Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance services to assess and report on asset health.
What you’ll do:
Must maintain a thorough oil analysis program of selected assets which includes sample set up, collection, reporting results and maintaining the database.
Monitor & trend asset health using PdM technologies such as Vibration, Infrared & Ultrasound, Strobe Light & accessories.
Balance rotating assets (i.e. fans) using the vibration analyzer and related equipment and necessary balance weights.
Be competent in the operation of the shaft alignment tool to assist Maintenance if required.
Use the Maintenance Systems (SAP, FluidLife and Tango) to report asset health to all affected stakeholders. Once asset history/ trends indicate a problem, work orders will be created to initiate the repair process. As soon as practical, after repairs, baseline data will be collected.
Be familiar with procedures involving material thickness tests, hardness tests, crack tests, etc.
Must be competent in reading blueprints, drawings, sketches and parts manuals.
Experienced Techs are expected to train new Mech Techs regarding all processes related to CBM.
Continually develop PdM practices to improve operations.
Work with operations to improve asset performance and recommend appropriate maintenance actions.
Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training.
Work safely in an industrial environment and able to follow the procedures and policies that are in place.
The position will require working on surface or underground as assigned.
This position may require shift work and/or weekend work.
What you’ll need:
The successful applicant must have a diploma from a recognized institute as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist or equivalent Engineering Technologist program.
Previous experience in a Mining or an Industrial Environment is an asset, (2-3 years).
Required certifications include Vibration Analyst (CAT IV), Infrared (Level I), Airborne Ultrasound (Level I) and Machinery Lubrication (MLA1 and MLT1).
