Job summary

Magna International Inc. in Canada is hiring for an on-site manufacturing role within the Cosma group. The position involves daily waste area management, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety and quality procedures.

The role requires a Grade 12 education and 1–3 years of related experience, with familiarity with industrial equipment, hand tools, and safety training. Strong communication and attendance are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection and cleaning of waste area and outside storage area.
• Complete daily checklist of filtration system and foam exterior.
• Weigh and log all waste bins entering and exiting the facility and track on all systems.
• Assist in maintaining EMS and Recycling requirements, including waste manifest processes.
• Maintain/Overhaul, and/or repair various machinery/equipment as scheduled or required.
• Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
• Monitor compactor for capacity level and contact disposal company as required.
• Assist in seasonal facilities work and general maintenance as required.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned, including material handling, working at heights
• Perform various task while working at heights, both in the facility and external building
• Responsible for applicable QEMS policies, procedures and work instructions.
• Complete all facility related PM’s in a timely manner
• Provide assistance and oversight with contractors

HOURLY PAY RANGE: $26.93 - $36.53

Specifications and Training Requirements

• Grade 12 education required
• 1-3 years related experience
• Familiarity with Industrial Equipment and hand tools.
• Basic HVAC and Plumbing experience
• Good communication skills, attendance and performance a must.
• Orientation, equipment/machinery specific as required, Safety Procedures/ Controlled Entry, Welding, WHMIS, Forklift Training, Crane Training, Fire Extinguisher Training, Emergency Procedures for Power Presses, Confined Space, Lockout, First Aid (as required), TDG Specific (as required), ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 training as prescribed by QEMS (see matrixes), 5S, CI Suggestion Program, Spill Training, Propane & Compressed Gases, Contractor Safety, 3R/Waste Management.
