Job summary

Agrocrop Exports Ltd. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment. You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, repair PLCs and control panels, and ensure safety and food-regulatory compliance.

The role requires an electrician license and hands-on experience with high-speed packaging equipment, PLCs, HMI, and schematic reading. Overtime and weekend work may be needed to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Must have an electrician license and hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMI, and high-speed packaging equipment.
• Strong reading of schematics and blueprints (ACAD).
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, diagnosis, installation of building circuits and repair of electrical, automation, and instrumentation of equipment controls.
• Diagnose and repair issues with PLCs, control panels, and electrical components to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive and predictive electrical and mechanical maintenance to reduce downtime
• Perform routine mechanical maintenance, repair, and adjustments on packaging and processing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, including conveyors and actuators
• Replace and align mechanical components such as bearings, belts, chains, shafts, and gearboxes.
• Support commissioning and upgrades of new or existing production and utility equipment
• Prepare reports, maintain records, and requisition supplies and parts.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and food manufacturing regulations (GMP, HACCP)
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to identify root causes and improvements.
• Assist in equipment setup, changeovers, and calibration to support production efficiency.
• Ensure a safe and compliant work environment while maintaining quality and productivity.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Plant Manager

Anticipated rate: $35/hr-40/hr

Hours of work: 8 am - 4:30 pm

Position Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Technician - is responsible for the routine, and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting of manufacturing and packaging equipment such as inspections, repairs, installations, maintain & troubleshoot electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected, and uses a variety of tools or equipment, such as power equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Relevant manufacturing experience in both electrical and mechanical systems; hands on experience with troubleshooting.
• Experience with process and high-speed packaging equipment in a manufacturing setting preferred, general maintenance skills.
• Must possess the technical and analytical skills necessary to resolve process and equipment problems.
• Electrician license is required.
• Experience in food industry or high-speed packaging will be considered as an asset.
• Good PLC & HMI troubleshooting, programming skills is required.
• Experience in instrumentation is an asset.
• Lead hand or supervisory experience is an asset.
• Experience in MS Suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints (ACAD drawings).
• Ability to prioritize in fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills: ability to communicate information clearly.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team.

Shift Requirements
