Qualifications

Job description

The Maintenance Team Leader oversees the work of Maintenance Technicians throughout their assigned multi-family residential properties. The role will support the prioritization of work order completion based on urgency and work to ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate possesses a trade certification and experience with general repairs.

Your contributions to the team include :

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the maintenance team within a designated area
  • Prioritize work order completion based on urgency and work with the Site Manager and other Maintenance Technicians to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Complete required weekly, monthly, semi-annual, or annual building and/or system inspections
  • Support the completion of all maintenance activities
  • Ensure all work orders are closed and paperwork submitted
  • Maintain knowledge of environmental safeguards and alarm systems
  • Responsible for use, care, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Respond to emergency situations and participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours call outs
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and service
  • Detect faulty operations and defective materials, report issues to supervision
  • Follow all safety procedures during repairs and maintenance

What you need to be successful :

  • Strong background in commercial/residential maintenance
  • Relevant trade or technical certification (asset)
  • Minimum two years’ experience managing or leading staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and reporting
  • Effective communication skills and customer focus
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, problem-solve, and follow safe work procedures
  • Willingness and ability to travel to different sites as needed
