We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills in the manufacturing industry who can provide superb work experience.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and repair of all plant equipment, as well as the maintenance of the plant infrastructure.

The successful incumbent will also lead and support the maintenance staff with a special focus on continuously improving processes and efficiencies.

This position will report to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Leads maintenance department and directs maintenance activities related to facility and equipment repair and installation.
2. Communicates daily with operations personnel to prioritize maintenance activities and escalates issues as required.
3. Coordinates work of outside contractors and ensures that the facility operates in a safe and efficient manner providing the best cost reduction solutions.
4. Ensures that preventative maintenance complies with the Company Quality Standards and ensures that the department and employees comply with all Quality systems and ISO 14001.
5. Ensures that all maintenance documentation is correctly completed and updated regularly.
6. Sources equipment, tooling, and spare parts.
7. Participates in new equipment purchases and is responsible for the coordination of "Pre-Start Review" on all new equipment. Participates and follows up on weekly layered audit as it relates to safety processes.
8. Coordinates maintenance request forms to ensure that required routine, emergency & preventive maintenance is completed on time, and directs the implementation of corrective action to prevent schedule deviation in order to meet due dates.
9. Develops and implements new methods, systems, policies & procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of maintenance activities.
10. Communicates and coordinates with other departments and vendors with regards to all maintenance issues and reports maintenance or equipment-related concerns to Management.
11. All other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirement

Mechanical or Engineering technology (diploma or degree), coupled with a Millwright and / or Electrician license (or equivalent) is considered an asset.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience and responsibility in plant maintenance.
2. Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role is required, within a unionized environment is considered an asset.
3. Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and experience with preventative (predictive) maintenance.
4. A progressive approach to maintenance and process improvement driven.
5. Ability to prioritize, plan and schedule work effectively with a production team in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
8. TPM experience, HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing experience would be an asset.
9. Experience working with PLC, Hydraulics, and Pneumatics would be an asset.
10. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
11. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
12. Strong knowledge of Windows and MS Office suite.
13. Knowledgeable of Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations.
