We’re looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Heffley Creek division, located in Kamloops, British Columbia. With approximately [number] employees, Heffley Creek Division produces plywood and veneer products safely and sustainably, producing approximately [number] million square feet of plywood and [number] million square feet of veneer per year for customers around the world, enabling them to build their homes and communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Three to five years of maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Red Seal Certification required; Millwright ticket preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Forestry, or Business is considered a strong asset.
  • Sawmill and/or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, as we operate 7 days a week.
  • Reliable transportation is required, as the location is not transit accessible.

In this role, you will:

  • Report to the Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Provide leadership to maintenance crews of [number] employees.
  • Ensure your team delivers quality maintenance activities safely and proactively.
  • Schedule, organize, and safely achieve targeted production levels of veneer or plywood.
  • Work shifts that may include weekends.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Meet maintenance targets and schedules as forecasted.
  • Perform all work safely, following company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities for both hourly and contract workers, including scheduling and quality control.
  • Participate in hiring processes and provide ongoing training and development for team members.
  • Work in a variety of temperatures, mostly indoors but also outdoors as needed.
