Summary:
The Maintenance Leader - Supervisor assumes the role of a technical leader and has overall responsibility for the maintenance team, ensuring timely and quality repair of equipment, execution of preventative maintenance, and plant machinery to minimize downtime for safe and efficient operation. The incumbent will provide direction to third-party contractors and collaborate with the company's maintenance team to support the bakery. The role also involves ensuring operations comply with safety standards and environmental practices.

Salary: $85,000/year - $95,000/year

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and train new team members; empower the maintenance team; liaise with contractors for assistance.
- Own maintenance deliverables, including planning, assessment, installation, and testing of new equipment, methods, and products.
- Utilize information tools to identify opportunities for improving line efficiency, monitor trends, and drive bakery priorities; track and eliminate causes of downtime; lead process improvements.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment failures.
- Direct and lead maintenance staff in scheduling, preventative maintenance, and repair of all production equipment.
- Maintain equipment and parts inventory to minimize downtime; organize the Maintenance Workshop.
- Provide technical leadership to ensure service and installation meet or exceed objectives.
- Ensure the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program is robust and regularly updated.
- Comply with HACCP and SQF Level 2 certification requirements.
- Foster a positive environment through effective communication between teams and shifts.
- Support the Bakery Team Leader with Capital Requests and collaborate with Engineering on scope and pricing.
- Ensure equipment maintenance meets food safety standards.
- Schedule and supervise major repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds, ensuring safety and schedule adherence.
- Monitor environmental conditions and practices; recommend improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- Bachelor of Engineering or College Diploma (DEC) in a technical field.
- 3-5 years of supervisory maintenance experience in a production facility, preferably in food.

- Strong skills in mechanics and electrics.
- Experience with automated process/packaging technology is an asset.
- Experience with computerized preventative maintenance programs is an asset.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP/BPCS systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills to motivate and interact effectively with teams.
