BC Transit in Victoria, BC, seeks a Daily Shift Manager to supervise daily repair, operation and maintenance of the Victoria Regional Transit System fleet. You will lead a large, unionized team, ensure safety, and maintain bus readiness for daily operations.

The role covers days, evenings, nights and weekends on varied shifts; 9-month temporary with shift premiums and competitive benefits. A Trades/maintenance background and strong regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Tradesman or Maintenance Technician/Technologist
• Experience leading a team within a shop or technical mechanical environment
• Thorough understanding of CVSE and NSC regulations and NSC requirements
• General understanding of facilities infrastructure and tooling
• Experience supervising a unionized workforce under Collective Agreements
• Computer literate with MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
• ERP experience with JDE considered an asset
• Able to work in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment

Responsabilités

• Supervise day-to-day repair, operation and maintenance activities of the Victoria Regional Transit System fleet
• Oversee safety and daily work activities of a large, unionized workforce
• Ensure enough buses are ready for operation on a day-to-day basis
• Manage shift schedules and shift premiums for weekend/evening work
