Job summary

Humanly in Canada seeks a Maintenance Robot Technician to install, service and repair production robots (Fanuc, Kuka) and related electrical/mechanical components. You will troubleshoot, upgrade systems, and support safety programs while meeting production targets in a manufacturing environment.

The role requires a 2-year college program focused on robotics/PLCs and 1–2 years of Canadian manufacturing experience, with strong technical and safety skills and the ability to work overtime if needed.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a 2 year college program with emphasis on robotics and PLCs.
  • 1- 2 years of related work experience in a Canadian manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with predictive and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Hands-on experience with power, control, and communication systems and circuits.
  • Practical experience with Fanuc & Kuka robot systems- touchups, recoveries, and troubleshooting is an asset.
  • Practical experience with Allen-Bradley & Omron PLCs- edits and troubleshooting is an asset.
  • Practical experience with Allen-Bradley & Maple HMIs- creating, editing and troubleshooting runtimes is an asset.
  • High level of analytical ability.
  • High level of interpersonal/communication skills to work effectively with others.
  • Knowledge of and ability to ensure a safe industrial work environment.
  • Computer skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade, overhaul, and repair production robots.
  • Assist with breakdowns and preventative maintenance in extrusion or manual assembly areas.
  • Follow Electrical Safety Code of Ontario and safety policies.
  • Utilize tools and materials to perform tasks efficiently.
  • Upgrade training accreditations to meet task requirements.
  • Maintain time, work order, and material records.
  • Respond to emergencies to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Communicate with supervisor and support staff.
  • Use information and PLC/HMI/VFD networks to complete tasks.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and debug production issues.
  • Upgrade infrastructure and equipment processes.
  • Prioritize safety for self and others.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Robotic Technician will be responsible to install, maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade, overhaul, and repair production robots as well as electrical and mechanical components and equipment. This may include technical support related to process manufacturing equipment and building or manufacturing infrastructure. The focus of the position is to maintain and enhance our robot cells (Kuka & Fanuc). The goal is to enhance the electrical safety for personnel and equipment while maximizing process production within the means provided and abiding by the laws of the land pertaining to Electrical Codes. The Robot Technician may also be required to assist with breakdowns and preventative maintenance in the extrusion or manual assembly areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Perform tasks as directed within the scope of the Electrical Safety Code of Ontario.
  • Perform tasks as trained by Corporate Safety Policies (i.e. lock out tag out) as well as following all other relevant safety procedures (i.e. arc flash procedures) to ensure your safety as well as the safety of co-workers.
  • Utilize equipment tools, materials, and best practices to fulfill the required tasks at hand in the most effective way possible.
  • Upgrade personal training accreditations to match the skill requirements necessary for the tasks at hand (i.e. man lift training).
  • Maintains time, work order, material, equipment, and other electronic shop records.
  • Support personnel requiring Maintenance skills to complete the tasks at hand.
  • Responds to emergency situations to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Communicate with Supervisor and fellow Support Staff.
  • Utilize the information provided including the Electrical Safety Code.
  • Utilize the tools provided and maintain the functionality of the tools.
  • Utilize computers to generate reports, and communicate with PLC, HMI, VFD, and networks.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Debug production issues.
  • Upgrade infrastructure and equipment processes.
  • Protect self and others.
EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
