Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a managerial role in fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities:

The Maintenance and Repairs Manager will be responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of all fleet vehicles and equipment, managing a dedicated team in Leduc, Fort McMurray, and Bonnyville, and the regulatory and compliance monitoring of licensing, insurance, and registration.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Inspections (tank, CVIP, Pre-trip) for equipment fleet
  • Prioritize equipment repairs and allocate work
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of all fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Ensure accurate completion of mechanic work orders and timecards
  • Identify needs and determine financial effectiveness and operational efficiency
  • AMVIR/Program management
  • Manage fleet licensing, permits, transport licenses, and certificates
  • Compliance with TDG and DOT regulations
  • Permitting
  • Weights & dimensions
  • Manage the administration of maintenance files
  • Ensure preventable damage invoices are correct and properly posted in the system
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease time and costs
  • Procurement of goods and services, tendering, vehicle specification writing, fleet maintenance, and contract administration
  • Work closely with internal parts department
  • Work with operations management to coordinate field mechanics and field repairs
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and costs
Job Requirements:
  • Licensed Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician with a CVIP license is a preference
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a manager role
  • An adaptable, safety-conscious team player with great communication skills
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license in good standing
  • Class 1 or 3 license is an asset
  • Related experience in transportation servicing the oil and gas industry is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of TDG and DOT regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of the methods and procedures used in the repair and maintenance of tandem, triaxle, water and vacuum trucks, track hoes, and light-duty vehicles; knowledge of their systems including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubleshooting
