Job summary

Senso Group Building Supplies Inc. in Toronto is seeking a skilled welder with proven experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding machinery to join our maintenance team.

You will inspect equipment, interpret blueprints, perform arc, MIG or TIG welding, test welds, and ensure safety and quality standards are met in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Welder with a minimum of 3 years in sheet metal fabrication & welding machinery.
• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
• Strong technical knowledge of blueprints and welding diagrams.
• Experience using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and structures for damages that require welding repairs.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine welding methods and sequence.
• Use arc, MIG, or TIG welding to repair and maintain equipment and structures.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Maintain welding tools and equipment to ensure good working order.
• Select and install torches, tips, filler rods, and flux according to welding specifications.
• Ensure all welding operations comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Monitor welding processes to avoid overheating or warping of materials.
• Perform preventative maintenance and identify potential issues early.
• Ensure work is completed safely and meets quality standards.

Wage: $36.00 per hour; full-time (37.5 hours)

Location of Work: 6 Hyde Avenue, Toronto, ON M6M 1J3

Primary Duties & Responsibilities include:

• Inspecting and assessing equipment and structures for damages that require welding repairs
• Interpreting blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine the required method and sequence of welding operations
• Using a variety of welding techniques, such as arc welding, MIG welding, or TIG welding, to repair and maintain equipment and structures
• Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws and ensure conformance to specifications
• Maintaining welding tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order
• Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals.
• Ensuring all welding operations are conducted in accordance with safety standards and regulations
• Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
• Performing preventative maintenance tasks and identifying potential issues before they lead to serious problems
• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Welder with a minimum of 3-years in sheet metal fabrication & welding machinery
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, squares, calipers etc.).
• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
• Strong technical knowledge of blueprints and welding diagrams.
• Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift heavy materials up to 50 pounds.
