Multimatic Inmet is seeking a Maintenance Press Shop Technician to maintain and troubleshoot stamping presses on the night shift (10:30 PM – 6:40 AM) in Richmond Hill, ON. Under the Maintenance Manager, you will keep presses running smoothly and safely, coordinating with the team to minimize downtime.

• Experience in a maintenance role, preferably in manufacturing or press shop.
• Basic electrical knowledge or pursuing electrician apprenticeship.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organization and planning abilities.
• Experience with stamping presses or industrial machinery is a plus.
• Formal training or certification in electrical systems preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Night shift availability (10:30 PM–6:40 AM) and flexibility with hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on stamping presses.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
• Assist in installation and setup of new equipment.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and parts inventory.
• Maintain equipment to ensure quality parts.
• Responsible for daily preventative maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work in a safe manner and comply with IATF16949, ISO14001, OHSA.

Job description

Multimatic Inmet is looking for a Maintenance Press Shop Technician. Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Press Shop Technician demonstrates model behavior and communicates openly and effectively with the team. The Maintenance Press Shop Technician will maintain and troubleshoot stamping presses, ensuring smooth and efficient operation throughout the midnight shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on stamping presses
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure minimal downtime
• Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory
• Maintain equipment to ensure machines produce quality parts
• Responsible for daily preventative maintenance
• Assisting in the implementation of continuous improvement activities
• Other duties as may be required
• Work in a safe manner at all times
• Works in compliance with IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards
• Will work in compliance with all legislative requirements of the OHSA

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing or press shop environment
• Basic electrical knowledge or currently pursuing an apprenticeship as an electrician or pre-apprentice
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organization and planning skills.
• Previous experience with stamping presses or industrial machinery is an asset
• Formal training or certification in electrical systems is preferred
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to interact effectively with all team members
• Position is on night shift (10:30PM - 6:40AM)
• Must be flexible with hours. Role would train on day shift and then move to night shift
