Job summary

JRoss Recruiters is seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day building operations at a large property in Ontario. You will lead a maintenance team, coordinate site services, and drive safety and efficiency across HVAC, life-safety, and energy programs.

The role requires strong leadership, several years in facilities management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in building operations or facilities management.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in commercial property settings.
• Diploma in Building Environmental Systems preferred.
• Certification assets: SMA (BOMA) or Building Environmental Systems II.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the property to maintain high standards.
• Lead and support a team responsible for maintenance and site services.
• Coordinate scheduled and reactive maintenance across the property.
• Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.

Job description

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the property, ensuring the facility is maintained to the highest standards
• Lead and support a team responsible for maintenance, building operations, and site services
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of operations staff
• Assist in the preparation and management of annual operating and capital budgets
• Coordinate both scheduled and reactive maintenance across the property
• Manage relationships with contractors, consultants, and service providers to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
• Support preventative maintenance programs related to HVAC systems, energy management, environmental programs, landscaping, security, and life safety systems
• Monitor building systems and operational performance to maintain efficiency and reliability
• Prepare operational reports and documentation to support effective decision-making
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain strong risk management practices to protect the property and its occupants

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in building operations or facilities management
• At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a commercial property, retail centre, office or mixed-use environment
• Diploma in Building Environmental Systems or related technical education preferred
• Stationary Engineer 4th Class Certificate, SMA (BOMA), or Building Environmental Systems II considered an asset
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance practices
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, building automation systems, and preventative maintenance software
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment

Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 + 14% bonus
