Job summary

PAL Technical Services in St. John’s, NL is seeking qualified applicants for two Maintenance Operational Controllers at our St. John's base. Join a team dedicated to keeping aircraft available for scheduled flights through effective coordination with Flight Operations, Maintenance Production and Planning.

Duties include coordinating with suppliers for parts, assisting during irregular operations, and providing administrative support to ensure on-time performance and prompt return to service.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of the Maintenance Control Manual and Maintenance Control Systems.
• Must possess a valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence for a minimum of 5 years.
• Thorough knowledge of all types of company aircraft operated and maintained.
• Ability to organize and plan effectively for timely completion of tasks.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with other departments and maintenance staff.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to shift focus given changing priorities and time constraints.
• Proficiency with PC (Word, Excel, MS Outlook) is an asset.
• Flexible working hours including weekends and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Flight Operations, Maintenance Production, and Planning to ensure aircraft availability with the forecast.
• Coordinate with Flight and Commercial Operations for daily flight schedule adjustments to meet on-time performance.
• Assist during Irregular Operations (IROPS) or out-of-service events for timely repairs and return to service.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Planners to schedule repairs, inspections, and modifications.
• Coordinate with Purchase and Inventory to ensure timely delivery of parts and components.
• Communicate with 3rd party providers for out-of-base maintenance and expedite return to service.
• Provide admin support to Maintenance Operations Control for dispatch requirements.
• Support AOG bookings for AMEs operating out of base during IROPS.
• Maintain tracking and MEL control; coordinate corrective actions with Shift Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and communicate with Flight Operations, Maintenance Production, and Planning to ensure availability of aircraft in conjunction with the planned flight schedules and the Aircraft Maintenance Forecast
• Communicate with Flight and Commercial Operations in establishing daily flight schedule adjustments when required to meet operational change requirements and On Time Performance
• Assist Production Crew Chief and Flight Operations during Irregular Operations (IROPS) or OOS events for coordination and timely completion of aircraft repairs and aircraft return to service
• Coordinate with the Production Managers and Maintenance Planners in scheduling all technical activities for the repair, inspection, and modification of company aircraft
• Coordinate with the Purchase and Inventory department to ensure the timely delivery of parts and components for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
• Communicate with 3rd party maintenance providers when required to arrange for unscheduled maintenance repairs out of base, and assist Production Managers and Shift Supervisor to expedite the aircraft return to service
• Provide administrative functions in Maintenance Operations Control to ensure technical dispatch requirements are met
• Administrative support for AOG bookings related to AMEs operating out of base during IROPS
• Maintain up to date tracking and Aircraft Defect Control and Handling processes for enroute aircraft maintenance and MEL control within limitations Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor for corrective action at a maintenance base.
• Other duties as assigned
