Job summary

Suncor is seeking experienced Instrumentation Technicians to support Terra Nova FPSO operations near St. John’s, NL. You will maintain instrumentation assets to ensure safety, reliability, and performance of offshore production systems.

The role requires strong calibration, installation, and repair skills and offshore certifications. Five+ years of offshore instrumentation experience and knowledge of PLC/DCS, Fire & Gas, and regulatory codes are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of instrumentation experience in an industrial environment, preferably offshore oil and gas.
• Valid Journeyman Instrumentation Certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Instrument Certificate preferred.
• Working knowledge of regulatory and industry codes for instrumentation.
• Expertise in calibration, installation, and repair of electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls and systems.
• Experience with PLC, Emergency Control Systems, Fire & Gas, and Distributed Control Systems.
• Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems.
• Understanding of control of work processes and systems.
• Ability to maintain mandatory offshore training and certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and reliability of offshore instrumentation assets.
• Calibrate, install, and repair instrumentation components and systems.
• Work with PLC and DCS to ensure safe, compliant operation.
• Maintain CMMS records and participate in safety and compliance programs.
