Job summary

Carmeuse is seeking a Maintenance Millwright in Blind River, ON for a permanent full-time replacement. The role requires a Licensed Industrial Millwright, a Department of Labour certificate, and at least 4 years of on-the-job maintenance experience in an industrial setting.

You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair mechanical systems, read blueprints, and maintain safety compliance. The position offers comprehensive benefits, a defined contribution pension, and RRSP options; overtime is paid double

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED equivalency.
• Department of Labour certificate for a Licensed Industrial Mechanical Millwright.
• Minimum 4 years or 8000 hours of on-the-job millwright maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Six Sigma training is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork with a strong work ethic.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, isolate, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical malfunctions and equipment using various test instruments; maintain and repair mechanical systems; test mechanical equipment for safety and efficiency; fabricate mechanical parts; participates in the maintenance and operation of mechanical tools and equipment used by the operation
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical systems including motors, controls, scales, and other equipment Test & monitor mechanical systems, equipment, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
• Ensures the proper function of mechanical safety devices
• Installs, troubleshoots and repairs new equipment and systems
• Monitors’ work done for adherence to legislated requirements
• Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction
• Maintains appropriate service and repair records
• Analyze and respond safely and appropriately to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service
• Follows blueprints to determine the location of equipment and to conform to the building and safety codes
• Any other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Demonstrated competency in preventative, predictive, basic care practices, and computerized maintenance management systems; strong leadership and Total Productive Maintenance experience; Six Sigma training is a plus
• Prior experience demonstrating effective leadership skills
• Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic
• Fluency in spoken and written English
