Job description

About the Role

Aggregate plant millwrighting involves the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of stationary industrial machinery.

What You’ll Accomplish

• Promote a positive safety culture through leadership by example.
• Perform all work activities following relevant safety policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators, according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
• Tasks require bending, kneeling, climbing multiple flights of stairs, lifting up to 50 lbs, working in tight areas and dusty environments.
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and tractors to position machinery and parts during installation, setup, and repair.
• Operate machine tools such as drills and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or setup.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies.

What We’re Looking For

• Industrial Mechanic Millwright certification from the college of trades or interprovincial red seal certification is required.

Additional Requirements

• Participate in plant safety activities, including risk assessments before each job.
• Complete scheduled work on time.
• Provide feedback to Maintenance Supervisors for work improvements.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Lafarge-approved PPE.
