Maintenance Technician (Dual Ticket - 433A and 442A)

The Maintenance Technician inspects, maintains, repairs and installs mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and / or hydraulic equipment at plant and / or pump stations.

Primary Duties :

• Repair, maintain, install, replace, troubleshoot and diagnose various machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, conveyors, belts, and fans utilizing hand tools and testing instruments;
• Inspect completed repairs and recommend appropriate solutions;
• Perform all work with strict adherence to all applicable safety legislation and procedures;
• Estimate time and material costs on electrical and mechanical projects;
• Requisition supplies and materials as required and approved by management;
• Work from engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals, or verbal instructions and install equipment to diagram specifications;
• Provide performance feedback to workers to motivate or improve adherence to operating procedures or quality standards;
• Complete work orders as required and ensure appropriate follow-up communication;
• Disassemble machines and repair / replace / adjust parts accordingly;
• Clean and lubricate equipment, parts, and machinery;
• Maintain equipment in proper operating condition;
• May be required to perform machine operator duties on occasion;
• Assist co-workers with any questions or issues regarding task completion;
• Other tasks as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience :

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as an Industrial Maintenance Millwright or an Electrician, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Must hold a valid 433A / 426A Millwright Certificate and / or 442A / 309A Electrician certificate.
• Must have a valid journeyman certificate as a millwright or electrician.
• Dual License an asset; Diploma from an accredited educational institution in a related mechanical field.
• Thorough knowledge of all applicable safety legislation.
• Proficient at troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and servicing all plant equipment in a timely manner.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Flexibility in availability.
• Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities : Fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, physically demanding, and attention to detail.
• Transportation / Travel Information : Own transportation required.
• Shifts (2) : Monday - Friday; 6 : 00 AM– 2 : 30 PM & 2 : 00 PM – 10 : 30 PM, + Overtime; two weeks days then switch to two weeks afternoons. Incumbent will be required to show flexibility in availability according to operational needs.
