Custom Castings is actively seeking a Maintenance Mechanic / Technician to join our dynamic team.

This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who can work independently and in collaboration with others to keep our equipment running safely and efficiently. We're not just another foundry — we're a modern, integrated manufacturing facility specializing in high-quality aluminum and zinc castings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of equipment, including:

• CNC machines
• Melting furnaces
• Overhead cranes
• Hydraulic systems and pneumatic tools
• Casting machinery and auxiliary equipment

Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

Fabricate parts using welding techniques (MIG, TIG); modify or create custom components as needed.

Conduct routine inspections, adjust machinery, and document maintenance activities.

Respond to emergency breakdowns quickly and efficiently — day or night, weekday or weekend, when required.

Assist in the design and execution of custom jigs, fixtures, safety guards, and machine upgrades.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright Certificate (or equivalent trade certification) is an asset.
• Proven experience in equipment maintenance and repair in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting pumps, valves, and cylinders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must have: Standard tool set available.
• Fabrication and welding skills.
• Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs of equipment and work in tight or elevated spaces.
