Job summary

Outright Consulting on-site role in Hamilton seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to uphold safety and reliability on the production floor. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and support scheduled production runs.

Strong English communication, ability to work with minimal supervision, and a basic tool kit are essential. Overtime may be required; training and growth opportunities available in a growing manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with relevant work experience and trade certificates (433A).
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision for extended periods.
• Ability to follow Standard Procedures supporting safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe, clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Provide emergency/scheduled repairs of production equipment.
• Prepare and start up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Ensure operation of motors, pneumatics, conveyors and machines per manuals and specs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues on production equipment.
• Read work orders and equipment manuals to perform required maintenance.

Job description

• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Provide emergency / unscheduled / scheduled repairs of production equipment during production
• Prepare and start up machinery and equipment for scheduled production runs
• Conducting preventative maintenance activities and prioritizing tasks accordingly
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems and production machines; following diagrams, operation manuals, manufactures instructions and engineering specifications and troubleshooting malfunctions
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair or production machines
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Basic computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be willing to work overtime when required
• Must have a basic tool kit. The employee tool allowance will allow for additional tools
