Job summary

PLZ is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic to lead a multi-disciplinary team in a production environment, driving daily maintenance and operations. The role emphasizes safe practices, GMP compliance, and collaborative problem solving with production and contractors.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary trade team in a production manufacturing environment and day-to-day operation and maintenance.
• Ensure the implementation of GMP, SQF requirements, SOPs and other regulatory requirements.
• Ensure mechanics work safely and use PPE properly; coach and guide during diagnosis and troubleshooting.
• Schedule and assign duties to mechanics and coordinate with production for changeovers.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for safe execution of contract work; escort contractors in the facility and ensure safety and GMP compliance.

Overall responsibility of the Sr. Maintenance Mechanic is to lead a multi-disciplinary trade team in a production manufacturing environment in day-to-day operation and maintenance.

Key Responsibility:

• Expert level of skills in the respective trade and aerosol manufacturing
• Responsible for the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF requirements, Standard Operating Procedures and other applicable regulatory requirements
• Ensure that mechanics work safely and maintain safe working environment
• Ensure that mechanics use required PPEs properly
• Work as coach for mechanics and provide full guidance during diagnosis and troubleshooting
• Schedule and assign duties to mechanics
• Troubleshoot the failures to support operations of the facility
• Troubleshot the problems causing quality non-compliance to the product
• Coordinate with production supervisor for proactive planning to organize changeovers efficiently
• Maintain the communication link between shifts
• Coordinate with outside contractors for the safe and efficient execution of contract out jobs; escort contractors inside the facility and ensure that they are aware of all the safety and GMP requirements and are well attended
• Monitor the inventory of spares, maintenance chemicals and special tools and order in timely manner
• Coordinate for the test runs for new products; arrange for the parts and lead the set-ups required for new products
• Lead the line improvement projects that would enhance lines’ efficiency and improve production processes
• Provide inputs and support initiation and completion of CAPEX projects
• Work in coordination with Maintenance Manager to train mechanics on relevant procedures.
• Provide inputs to Maintenance Manager for each worker's performance for the performance reviews
• Adhere to site quality and safety processes and procedures.
• Ensure on regular basis that procedures are followed and work is done correctly.
• Other tasks as assigned.
