Job summary

Buchner Manufacturing Inc. (BMI) in Newmarket, Ontario, is seeking a skilled technician for daily setup and inspection of production equipment. You will configure lathes and milling machines, feed coils into machines, and fabricate components, all while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical skills and ability to read blueprints.
• PLC programming experience.
• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics is an asset.
• Strong conventional machining and grinding skills.
• Experience using micrometers and precise measuring equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints for milling and lathe operations.
• Forklift experience and certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection and setup of production equipment as required.
• Build and maintain equipment.
• Feed coils into machines.

Major Areas of Responsibilities

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will have exposure to a production facility with operating machinery, mechanical parts and moving vehicles. The noise level in this environment is moderate, and can reach very high levels in the production plant when certain machinery is running. Some areas of this environment are exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

• Approved steel-toed safety shoes/boots

Hours of Work

Day Shift: 7:30am- 4:30pm Monday - Friday
