Job summary

Dawn Staffing Solutions Inc. seeks a Maintenance Manager to oversee daily maintenance operations at a manufacturing facility near Winnipeg, MB. The role requires hands-on leadership, asset management, and a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

You will implement Lean practices, manage equipment and capital projects, and mentor a maintenance team in a fast-paced plant environment. Day shift, competitive compensation up to $100K CAD plus benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure employees follow safety standards.
  • Provide resources to meet safety and operational goals.
  • Track and improve safety performance across the facility.
  • Communicate health and safety requirements to staff, contractors and visitors.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve facility operations and performance.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure processes run efficiently.
  • Manage equipment, assets, and resources.
  • Coach and mentor team members to achieve business goals.
  • Develop work procedures and improve team skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Apply Lean principles and best practices in production.
  • Monitor team performance and maintain records.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify problems and root causes.
  • Support approved capital improvement projects.
  • Manage inventory and ensure plant equipment is well-maintained.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee daily maintenance operations at our client s manufacturing facility close to Winnipeg, MB.

Shift - Day

Pay - Up to $100K

Job Responsibilities
  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure employees follow company safety standards.
  • Provide the necessary resources and support to meet safety and operational goals.
  • Track, review, and improve safety performance across the facility.
  • Communicate health and safety requirements to employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve facility operations and performance.
  • Monitor daily operations and ensure processes are running effectively.
  • Manage company equipment, assets, and resources efficiently.
  • Support employee development, training, and succession planning.
  • Coach and mentor team members to help achieve business goals.
  • Develop clear work procedures and improve team skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles and production best practices.
  • Monitor team performance and maintain accurate records.
  • Work with other departments and leaders to identify problems, determine root causes, and implement solutions.
  • Support and manage approved capital improvement projects.
  • Manage inventory and ensure plant equipment is properly maintained.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Good decision‑making and problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience working in a plant or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and high‑pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety programs and Lean manufacturing practices.
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to train, coach, and mentor team members.
Education & Experience
  • Millwright certification is an asset.
  • First Aid, Hazard Identification, and WHMIS certifications are preferred.
  • Previous plant or manufacturing experience with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and quality control systems.
