Job summary

Our client in Mississauga is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance for the manufacturing plant, including preventive maintenance programs, schedules, and safety compliance.

You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, manage spare parts and contracts, and drive cost-effective repairs while maximizing production efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years of maintenance management and supervisory experience in food production/bakery.
  • Industrial Electrical 442A or Industrial Millwright 433A license is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute preventive maintenance programs per manufacturer specifications.
  • Establish pre-set inspection and repair schedules.
  • Detect, evaluate, and resolve malfunctions in production equipment.
  • Ensure repairs are cost-efficient and timely to maximize production.
  • Participate on the Health and Safety Committee.
  • Create and maintain contracts for external machine repairs.
  • Manage spare parts, inventories and third-party contractors.
  • Monitor the annual maintenance budget monthly.
  • Maintain up-to-date service records and maintenance logs.
  • Proactively improve maintenance processes and standards.
  • Manage, coach and train maintenance technicians.

Job description

Our client in Mississauga in the food manufacturing industry is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join their team!

Youwillbe responsible forall production machinery, equipment, and facilities maintenance and repairs forthe manufacturing plant.

Your key responsibilities include, butare not limited to:

  • Creating and executing preventativemaintenance programs, according to the manufacturer's specifications, andmonitoring equipment and repairs.
  • Establishing pre-set inspectionmaintenance and repair schedules.
  • Detecting, evaluating, and resolvingany malfunction or issue with production equipment.
  • Ensuring repairs are carried out in acost-efficient and timely manner, maximizing production capabilities andmeeting health and safety requirements.
  • Participating as an active andcontributing member of the Health and Safety Committee.
  • Creating and maintaining contracts forall machine and equipment repairs not performed in house.
  • Managing spare parts and equipmentinventories and third-party service contractors.
  • Monitoring the annual maintenancebudget monthlyto ensure proper cost control.
  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-dateservice records and maintenance logs for each major piece of equipment.
  • Proactively improving maintenanceprocesses and standards as appropriate.
  • Managing, coaching and training team ofmaintenance technicians.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you will haveapost-secondary degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering orrelated field,along withat least 5 years ofexperience in maintenance management and supervisory roles within thefoodproduction/bakeryindustry.Possessing anIndustrialElectrical 442AorIndustrial Millwright 433ALicensewould be considered an asset.

Ideal candidate for the role,you will also have knowledge of or experience with the following:

  • Strong knowledge of electronics,controls, mechanical and electrical components found in food manufacturingmachinery.
  • Formal training on maintenance ofmanufacturing equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standardsfor food production equipment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability tocoach and develop employee skills.
  • Familiarity with Project ManagementandERP software systems.
