Job description

Career Opportunity

As a Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the service and maintenance staff, ensuring the safe maintenance, repair, or replacement of Smurfit Westrock's plant assets. Your role will also focus on driving continuous improvement in plant operations to support efficient, high-quality production.

How you will impact WestRock:

  1. Create and implement short- and long-term maintenance strategies to improve operating efficiency in line with WestRock's values.
  2. Establish safety goals and plans for the Maintenance Department to promote a safe working environment.
  3. Develop an effective Plant Maintenance Program utilizing industry best practices to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
  4. Supervise and review maintenance work to ensure the adoption of effective, efficient, and current technology and practices.
  5. Maintain compliance with all safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations by all maintenance staff.
  6. Analyze maintenance KPIs to assess efficiency and identify opportunities for performance improvement.

What you need to succeed:

  1. 3-5 years technical degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  2. 10-15 years of industrial maintenance experience with supervisory responsibilities.
  3. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify root causes to implement preventative measures.
  4. Experience in planning and managing budgets.
  5. Ability to work in a 24/7 plant environment.
  6. Strategic thinking with confidence to make impactful decisions on safety, uptime, and productivity.
  7. Proven ability to coach and develop team talent.
  8. Excellent communication skills adaptable across organizational levels.
