Base pay range

CA$100,000.00/yr - CA$110,000.00/yr

Job Description:

1. Preserving the condition of the plant by monitoring operational care and providing priorities to shift maintenance staff.
2. Managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department within the plant.
3. Managing key performance metrics to ensure standards are achieved in shutdowns, quality, safety, preventative maintenance, and financial impact.
4. Identifying opportunities to develop and initiate strategic projects addressing reliability, process improvement, safety, and quality.
5. Monitoring and adjusting operating parameters to ensure machine control within design limits and product quality.
6. Acting as a first point of contact for Supervisors.
7. Preparing and managing the departmental budget.
8. Planning for and executing plant maintenance shutdowns.
9. Managing capital projects alongside daily activities to meet organizational objectives.
10. Promoting a department culture that fosters engagement, inclusion, and high performance.

Job Requirements:

1. Must be a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), Certified Journeyman Millwright or Electrician, or hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
2. 7+ years of experience leading a maintenance department in a manufacturing environment.
3. CRMP or MMP certification is an asset.
4. Experience managing major projects and setting priorities.
5. Experience in a unionized environment.
6. Exposure to hydraulics or combustion systems is an asset.
7. Experience in reliability and root cause analysis is beneficial.
8. Proactive safety mindset.
9. Strong relationship-building and collaborative skills.
10. Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
