Job summary

Schlegel Villages in London, Ontario is seeking a part-time LTC Maintenance Worker for the Village of Glendale Crossing. The location is 3030 Singleton Ave, London, ON, with an expected start date of September 23, 2026.

You will perform maintenance tasks, be comfortable at heights, lift 15-25 lbs, and have knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, hot water heating systems, and air exchange units. You will handle residents' items with care and work as part of a caring team.

Qualifications

  • Be comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather.
  • Able to lift 15-25 lbs.
  • General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, hot water heating systems and air exchange units.
  • Ability to handle fire alarm, sprinkler systems and other emergency equipment with calm and care.

Responsibilities

  • Be comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Handle Resident’s personal items with care and respect.
  • Communicate the nature of mechanical problems and possible solutions effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Be comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs.
  • Have general knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, hot water heating systems, and air exchange units.
  • Possess the ability to deal with the fire alarm, sprinkler systems, call system, and other emergency equipment for the Village.
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team.
  • Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture.

The Village of Glendale Crossing located in London, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a LTC Maintenance Worker to join their team.

  • Status: Part-Time
  • Location: 3030 Singleton Ave, London, ON
  • Expected Start Date: September 23, 2026

The hiring rate for this role is $ 23.88 per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

As a new Maintenance Team Member joining our Village Team, you will:

It would be an asset, but not required, if our new Maintenance team member has:
  • Experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting.
  • An awareness and understanding of infection control practices, workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS), as well as, all relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
