Job summary

East Coast Mining Ltd. (ECM) is seeking a Maintenance Labourer for our hard-rock open-pit project near St. Lawrence, NL. You will support heavy equipment maintenance, assist mechanics, and work in a busy shop environment.

This hands-on role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliability, with a 14 days on/14 days off rotation, local housing priority, and competitive benefits. Pre-employment testing and a valid licence are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance, mechanical, industrial or heavy equipment environment is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with basic heavy equipment components is an asset.
• Experience supporting Heavy Duty Mechanics or equipment maintenance is an asset.
• Comfortable around large mobile/mining equipment and heavy workloads.
• Physically capable of performing hands-on labour and uneven terrain.
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
• Dependable and able to work well in a maintenance team.
• Valid driver’s licence and acceptable driver’s abstract.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Support Heavy Duty Mechanics with routine maintenance on heavy mining equipment.
• Assist with fuelling, lubrication and checking fluid and oil levels.
• Identify basic equipment components and maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized heavy-duty maintenance shop.
• Assist with moving, staging and organizing tools, parts and materials.
• Support equipment servicing and preventative maintenance as directed.
• Follow established safety procedures while working around equipment.
• Perform general labour duties to support the maintenance team.

Essential Responsibilities

• Support Heavy Duty Mechanics with routine maintenance activities on heavy mining equipment

Work Conditions

• 14 days on / 14 days off rotation
