A leading hotel in Moncton is seeking a Maintenance Helper to assist with maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff. As the Maintenance Helper, you will perform or assist with routine maintenance and repair duties for the property, including items such as painting and grounds maintenance. You will support the Chief Engineer and staff with various projects to keep our hotel looking fresh and inviting. Additionally, you enjoy interacting with people, so engaging with guests and coworkers is important, and responding to their needs helps ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all.
Requirements
This role requires practical experience; trade school or related college coursework is preferred, along with previous experience in customer service and hotels. You must be able to work with various tools and equipment used in the department. Good communication skills, especially in English, are essential. Physical requirements include the ability to perform heavy work—exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. You should be able to stand for long periods, walk long distances, bend, stretch, twist, reach, and work under variable temperatures and noise levels. The role may involve climbing stairs, working outdoors and indoors (including on roofs), and exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, and mites. Long work hours and quick response to situations may be required.
