Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, plumbing, and maintenance tasks preferred.
• Knowledge of WHMIS and OH & S regulations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Follow Preventive Maintenance and Demand Maintenance Programs.
• Complete various repairs including plumbing and painting tasks.
• Inspect Life Safety equipment and ensure safe storage of tools.

Job description

Position: Maintenance Aide, Part-Time (30 hours bi-weekly)

Qualifications:

• Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to read and write the English language.
• Experience in electrical, plumbing, patchwork, painting preferred.
• Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
• Knowledgeable about WHMIS, OH & S.
• High School Diploma.
• College level trade certificate is an asset.

Responsibilities:

• Follow the home’s Preventive Maintenance Program as well as the Demand Maintenance Program.
• Regularly perform the various tasks described in the programs.
• Regularly check completed maintenance logs in each department/home area of the home.
• Complete repairs as necessary including but not limited to: painting, wall repair, small leaks, installation of toilets, sinks, tiling, doors, replacing light fixtures, and installing blinds.
• Check the operation of the mechanical equipment.
• Inspect Life Safety equipment and systems.
• Ensure safe storage of maintenance equipment.
• Complete regular maintenance reports.
• Complete pre-startup assessments on new equipment as applicable.
• Coordinate annual preventive maintenance checks by contractors.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Must be available for call-ins on short notice.
• Perform everything pertaining to maintenance including heavy-duty related work.
