The Maintenance Electro-Mechanic is responsible for supporting the production department by providing electrical and mechanical services, participating in the Preventive Maintenance program to ensure equipment readiness, and contributing to continuous improvement of equipment and processes. The role requires demonstrating and promoting the Company’s Core Values in Health & Safety, People, Quality / Food Safety, and Growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, examine, troubleshoot, replace, and repair mechanical and electrical components for equipment and plant systems/fixtures.
- Identify and eliminate defects to improve asset health.
- Read manuals, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine assembly methods and sequences.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Department to create and improve Preventive Maintenance plans and schedules; record data in the CMMS system.
- Adhere to GMP, PPE, SOP, HACCP, and Occupational Health and Safety standards daily.
- Evaluate hazards and implement measures to ensure a safe work environment in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced food industry environment.
- Follow directions from Maintenance Department Leaders regarding daily tasks.
- Empower employees to stop production lines for Food Safety & Quality concerns to resolve issues and ensure safety and quality standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A) and Industrial Electrical (442A).
- Minimum of 3 years industrial electrician experience, preferably in the food or beverage industry with automation.
- Familiarity with electrical/mechanical industrial installations, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, manuals, and parts drawings.
- Formal education in PLC logic or automation is preferable.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and computer skills, including CMMS.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Availability for overtime work.
