Our Mississauga Cascades Containerboard facility has an opening for a Licensed Electrician, 309A or 442A, with a significant industrial/manufacturing background.

Pay: $44.45/hr + overnight shift premium of $0.75/hr

Shift: 12-hour continental shift

Role & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and related devices
• Assist in inspection, testing, and evaluation of new systems to ensure compliance with company and industry standards
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment promptly
• Utilize the computerized maintenance management system for work orders, preventive maintenance, and updating equipment databases
• Provide technical support to Production and Maintenance teams
• Support divisional and corporate objectives including health & safety, productivity, continuous improvement, innovation, quality, waste reduction, and 5S practices

Qualifications

• Valid 309A and/or 442A license
• Completed certificate of Apprenticeship
• Post-secondary education in electrical or electronics programs (considered an asset)
• Familiarity with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code or Canadian Electrical Code
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, motor circuit analysis tools, oscilloscopes, etc.
• Experience with electrical distribution systems (120V / 575V / 2.4KV / 13.8KV)
• Experience with Motor Control Centres (MCC) - NEMA and IEC starters
• Experience with testing, maintenance, and connection of AC and DC motors
• Experience with building lighting maintenance and electrical infrastructure
