Job description

Directly reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible to the Maintenance Manager. Functionally responsible for maintaining all manufacturing equipment and electrical components at Almag Aluminium. As a member of the Maintenance team, shares knowledge and provides training to team members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Experience

• Hold a valid 442a or 309 electricians license.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a Licensed Electrician.
• High energy level, creativity, self-confidence, good time management, and team spirit.
• Training or experience in troubleshooting industrial maintenance machines.

Technical Skills / Competence

• Experience troubleshooting and working with Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with the Electrical Safety Code.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical controls, and PLCs.
• Welding and fabrication skills are considered a strong asset.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Maintenance Electrician's duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring all electrical, instrumentation, controls, and plant equipment are maintained to minimize downtime.
• Working safely with minimal supervision in a clean and organized shop environment.
• Responding promptly to breakdowns and communicating repair needs.
• Sharing knowledge with team members regarding equipment functionality, procedures, and drawings.
• Training operators on equipment capabilities, limitations, and preventive measures.
• Troubleshooting and optimizing drives and instrumentation devices within PLC control circuits.
• Installing and connecting conduit and wires to electrical equipment and plant components.
• Following and improving preventive maintenance programs.
• Contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
• Repairing mechanical issues independently when needed.
• Monitoring equipment performance, diagnosing problems, and implementing solutions.
• Communicating effectively with all plant personnel.
• Complying with ISO and quality policies and procedures.
