You are a Certified Electrician with expertise in maintaining mill machinery. Your role involves installing, maintaining, and modifying electrical systems on-site, diagnosing and repairing motors, and ensuring safety and sustainability. This opportunity is at our Spruceland sawmill in Acheson, AB.

As a hands-on Electrician, you enjoy tackling challenges and completing tasks accurately on the first attempt. You are safety-conscious and a team player, utilizing your Red Seal certification, PLC knowledge, and industrial experience in our Acheson, AB remanufacturing facility.

The life of the Certified Electrician includes :

• Maintaining mill machinery such as pumps, conveyors, compressors, and pneumatic systems involved in manufacturing.
• Performing preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
• Inspecting machinery for irregularities and malfunctions.
• Managing time effectively to assemble, move, replace, or dismantle machinery.
• Troubleshooting issues, enhancing equipment reliability, and implementing safe repairs.
• Utilizing blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manuals for project completion.
• Inspecting electrical components like transformers and switchgear.
• Promoting a safe work environment through good housekeeping and safety practices.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

For this role, you come equipped with :

• 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Journeyperson Certificate; Red Seal is an asset but not mandatory.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work day and afternoon shifts.
• High sense of urgency and teamwork skills.
• Strong troubleshooting, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety and efficiency.
• Knowledge of lumber manufacturing is an asset.
