Job Purpose

The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of a building or area. Duties can vary from day to day and a maintenance schedule may be implemented so time management skills are required.

Duties And Responsibilities

The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Completes a large variety of work orders.
  • Install machine guarding/ bollards.
  • Completes a variety of installations.
  • Inspects and fixes building equipment.
  • Paint warehouse, flooring, and walls
  • Floor repair and layout
  • Install racking.
  • Install ISO panel walls.
  • Install and maintain building signs and postings.
  • Install and maintain room dividing curtains.
  • Assembly/ disassemble cages for storage purposes.
  • Maintain general building repairs (locks, plumbing, doors, lighting)
  • Perform preventative maintenance changes of filters throughout the facility.
  • Repair and install drywall.
  • Carpentry
  • Uses CMMS program to accurately report completed work orders.
  • Completes a variety of scheduled maintenance tasks, mainly corresponding to building but can include equipment.
  • Assists with moving lines and materials, including office set ups, maintenance areas and trailers.
  • Uses skyjack and forklifts to complete work.
  • Maintain climate control systems.
  • Deliver/ pickup maintenance materials.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Have manual dexterity.
  • Be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.
  • Great attention to detail with accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Working conditions

  • Work indoors.
  • May be exposed to hot temperatures from ovens.
  • May work close to others, usually within a few feet.
  • Compliant with ventilation, cleanliness, space, lighting, and temperature.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing involved.
  • May repeat the same movement.
  • Often wear safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, steel toed safety shoes/boots and beard nets.
  • Ability to bend or twist their body.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
