Job summary

AVENS-A Community for Seniors seeks a casual/on-call Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Supervisor with repairs, painting, landscaping, and preventive upkeep for AVENS properties including Aven Manor and Cottages.

The role requires maintenance-related education, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, outdoor work, and a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check. Compensation includes hourly pay and standard benefits where applicable.

Qualifications

• Education or training related to maintenance; plumbing/mechanical/electrical preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors.
• Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance duties at AVENS– A Community for Seniors.
• Perform general labour and repairs, painting, general landscaping, and equipment checks.
• Assist with preventative maintenance for Aven Manor, Aven Cottages, and independent housing.

Maintenance Assistant-Casual

Reportingto the Maintenance Supervisor, The MaintenanceAssistant is responsible for assisting with general maintenance duties at AVENS– A Community for Seniors. This is a casual/on-call position to cover for full-time replacement. Dutieswill include general labour and repairs, painting, general landscaping,equipment checks, and preventative maintenance for our Aven Manor, AvenCottages, as well as our independent housing.

Education and Experience Requirements

• v Educationor training related to maintenance, preference for plumbing, mechanical andelectrical
• v Abilityto lift up to 50 lbs
• v Abilityto work outside for long periods of time, and to work with limited supervision
• v Mustbe able to obtain, provide and maintain a satisfactory Vulnerable SectorCriminal Record Check
