Job summary

AVENS – A Community forSeniors is seeking a skilled Cook – Casual to join our brand new kitchen in Yellowknife, serving 57 residents with healthy meals and special-diet options.

Reporting to the Food Services Manager, the successful candidate will have a completed culinary program, 2+ years in institutional cooking, and Food Safe Certification. Salary is CAD 29.09/hour with casual benefits and meal plan subsidy.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in commercial or institutional cooking.
• Experience working with the elderly is an asset.

Cook – Casual

AVENS currently has an opening for a skilled culinary professional in our brand new, state of the art kitchen!

Reporting to the Food Services Manager, the Cook is responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals for AVENS’ 57 residents, with an eye for special diets and institutional cooking.

Education and Experience Requirements

• A completed culinary program
• At least two (2) years of experience in commercial or institutional cooking
• Experience working with the elderly is an asset
• Current and valid Food Safe Certification and WHMIS 2015 is an asset

Successful applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector criminal record check.
