Job summary

Amica Bayview Gardens in Toronto, ON is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for a regular part-time role. You will assist the Maintenance Coordinator with daily operations, including upkeep of grounds, repairs to equipment, and routine inspections of building and safety systems.

The position offers an hourly wage of $22.19 with benefits and opportunities for certifications. You should have a minimum Grade 12, fluent English, basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs, and the

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Fluent in oral and written English.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic understanding of hand tools.
• Basic understanding of computers and systems: Yardi, Word, Tels.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs of supplies and equipment.
• Ability to work in small areas and from high heights.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with fire alarm and security systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Coordinator with daily work orders and routine maintenance.
• Repair equipment in the facility and in suites.
• Paint and perform minor building touch-ups.
• Conduct daily inspections of equipment, pool and grounds.
• Perform daily fire safety and building security checks.

A day in the life of a Maintenance Assistant:

With your attention to detail, you will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance Coordinator with the day to day operations of the facility, including the cleanliness and upkeep of the grounds, repairs and maintenance to all equipment in the building and the suites.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting the Maintenance Coordinator with completion of daily work orders.
• Repair of equipment in facility and suites.
• Painting and minor building touch ups.
• Daily inspections: equipment, pool, and grounds.
• Daily fire safety and building security checks.
