Job summary

Amica Riverside is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Windsor, Ontario for a casual, on-site role. The position offers an opportunity to support daily maintenance tasks and assist with upkeep of grounds and equipment at the Amica Riverside residence.

Requirements include Grade 12, fluent English, basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. HVAC knowledge and familiarity with safety systems are assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Fluency in oral and written English.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic understanding of hand tools.
• Basic understanding of computers and systems: Yardi, Word, Tels.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs of supplies and equipment.
• Ability to work in small areas and from high heights.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with fire alarm and security systems is an asset.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety standards is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Coordinator with daily work orders and upkeep of the facility.
• Repair equipment in the facility and in suites.
• Paint and perform minor building touch ups.
• Conduct daily inspections of equipment, pool and grounds.
• Carry out daily fire safety and building security checks.

A day in the life of a Maintenance Assistant:

With your attention to detail, you will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance Coordinator with the day to day operations of the facility, including the cleanliness and upkeep of the grounds, repairs and maintenance to all equipment in the building and the suites.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting the Maintenance Coordinator with completion of daily work orders.
• Repair of equipment in facility and suites.
• Painting and minor building touch ups.
• Daily inspections: equipment, pool, and grounds.
• Daily fire safety and building security checks.
