Job summary

Actionmarguerite is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to perform maintenance of the building, equipment and grounds, and to complete work orders and preventative maintenance on site. This casual position supports all Actionmarguerite sites and service contracts.

Starting as soon as possible, the role requires bilingual communication, a 4th Class Power Engineer certificate, and experience in health-care settings; a valid driver's license and PC skills are also required. Hours vary.

Qualifications

• Grade XII required; Power Engineer certificate required.
• Certifications or experience in related trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) would be an asset.
• 1–2 years related experience in a health care facility or related setting is an asset.
• Experience and/or education in the use of personal computers.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing the required maintenance of the building, equipment and grounds, including assigned preventative maintenance duties on the equipment and completing ongoing work requisitions. The incumbent will provide services to all Actionmarguerite sites and applicable service contracts. The Maintenance Person demonstrates a commitment to the vision, mission and values of Actionmarguerite.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Grade XII;
• Valid Manitoba or Inter‑provincial 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate
• Certification and experience in other related trades would be an asset i.e. electrical, plumbing, painting, refrigeration, carpentry and HVAC;
• One to two years related experience in a health care facility or related setting an asset; and
• Experience and/or education in the use of personal computers.

• Must be mechanically inclined, motivated and able to work as an individual with minimal supervision or as a team member;
• Initiative and judgment to organize and maintain flow of work and accuracy of records;
• Ability to communicate effectively;

• A valid driver’s license is required;
• Must be in good physical and mental health to perform the assigned duties;
• Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance; and
• Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.

This position is designated bilingual (French/English). All staff are hired for the facility. Employees may hold more than one position in different Actionmarguerite facilities, where the sum total of hours does not exceed 1.0 full-time equivalence.
