Job summary

Southern Health-Santé Sud is seeking an Engineer 5th Class to monitor and maintain building and medical related systems at Hôpital Ste-Anne Hospital in Ste. Anne, Manitoba. The successful candidate will have a Power Engineering - 5th Class Certificate and relevant maintenance experience.

This role has a casual on-call arrangement and includes duties such as determining work methods and priorities while adhering to organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years' experience working in a maintenance position.
• Previous experience working with electrical, carpentry, plumbing, heating, or air-conditioning.
• Power Engineering - 5th Class Certificate as recognized by the Province of Manitoba.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Lead - Physical Plant Services, the Engineer 5th Class is responsible for monitoring and maintaining building and medical related systems and associated equipment in a 5th class plant.

The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years' experience working in a maintenance position.
• Previous experience working with electrical, carpentry, plumbing, heating, or air-conditioning.

Education

• Power Engineering - 5th Class Certificate as recognized by the Province of Manitoba.
• Other suitable combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements

• May be required to work in a variety of temperatures including excessive heat or cold.
• May be required to work with hazardous chemicals.
• May be required to be on call evenings and weekends as necessary.
• Will be required to respond to the facility within 20 minutes of being notified when on call.
• May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary.
• May be required to travel to other regional facilities as the position duties may require.
