Job summary

COFOMO in Quebec City is looking for a Cobol Developer to take charge of end-to-end development in a mainframe environment, from needs analysis to production deployment, and to coordinate with business and technical stakeholders.

You will use Endevor and Zeke, contribute to automation, lead several files, and support releases while ensuring application stability and quality. A strong insurer domain knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Cobol and mainframe development.
• Ability to analyze requirements and deliver production-ready solutions.
• Experience with Endevor, Zeke and automation is a plus.

• Technical leadership and ability to handle multiple files simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of end-to-end development in a mainframe environment from analysis to production.
• Design, develop and evolve Cobol-based applications to meet business needs.
• Act as a technical manager on certain files and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Engage collaborators, manage priorities, deadlines and commitments.
• Contribute to code reviews, software quality, testing and automation.
• Plan work, anticipate risks and provide mitigation strategies; support releases.
