Site Description

Mackenzie Health's two hospitals – Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital and Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital – offer comprehensive emergency, core, and specialized services, including outpatient clinics, mental health, stroke programs, and more.

Position Details

• Position: Full-Time Security Guard
• Site: Cortellucci Hospital
• Agreement: Overtime averaging after 88 hours
• Hours: Continental rotation – 0700-1900/1900-0700
• Payrate: $18.73/hour
• Internal Posting Date: April 21, 2025
• Internal Closing Date: April 28, 2025
• External Closing Date: May 5, 2025

Schedule Example

• Week 1 - Days: Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
• Week 2 - Days: Sun, Wed-Thu
• Week 3 - Nights: Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
• Week 4 - Nights: Sun, Wed-Thu

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital grounds to ensure safety.
• Monitor surveillance systems and report suspicious activity.
• Control access points, allowing only authorized personnel.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and assist hospital staff.
• Provide customer service to visitors, patients, and staff.
• De-escalate conflicts and resolve issues professionally.
• Document incidents accurately in reports.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and law enforcement.
• Enforce hospital policies and address violations.

Prerequisites

• Valid Security License for Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C
• Covid-19 vaccination (two doses)
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and TB test
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
• Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) required or available through training
