Penn Machine Company has an excellent opportunity available in a growth industry with a proven 100+ year old company for a Machinist. Penn Machine Company LLC, a Marmon/Berkshire Hathaway Company, is a leading manufacturer of products and services for the transit, railroad, oil/gas, and mining industries. We are seeking a qualified individual for a full-time position for our Transit Division in Blairsville, PA.Our Machinists operate equipment necessary to produce quality components to specifications on prints while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Primary responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain operation of CNC lathes, mills, and/or gear grinders as well as hand and power tools as required to perform job assignments.
• Replace worn inserts, drills or tooling and adjust feed/speed rates.
• Complete work assignments and associated reports in a timely manner.
• Verify machine components with measuring instruments to ensure parts are made within tolerances.
• Operate powered industrial forklift and crane hoist to transfer and position materials as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean and well organized work area.

Requirements for Positions

• Machining background - knowledge of and/or machining background. Programming experience and training is preferred. Experience programming in MasterCam and/or Gear Pro is a plus.
• Strong background to read, understand, and interpret prints, with using measuring equipment, in completing reports and documentation, and ability to read and understand written directions and procedures.
• Machine shop environment background preferred.
• Self-motivated and willing to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime and alternate shifts, when required
