Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 10+ years' work experience in a machine and fabrication shop environment or engineering department of a manufacturer with heavy machining capabilities.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and accurately read various measuring tools.
- Understanding of machinery and equipment and material tolerances.
- Solid understanding of quality control and working to quality standards.
- Good time management, problem-solving skills, initiative, and commitment to tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with training of new and existing employees on proper usage of measuring equipment and ISO Quality Policies and Procedures.
- Inspect all machined and fabricated jobs to ensure compliance with drawing, process, and customer specifications.
- Monitor in-process jobs throughout the shop to prevent non-conformance issues.
- Inspect items received from a sub-contracted process prior to the release to customer or to the next process in order to ensure compliance with drawing, process, and customer specifications.
- Prepare and maintain quality documents such as but not limited to certificates of compliance or dimensional reports as per customer requirements.
- Maintain a calibration system for all company-owned and employee-owned measuring instruments.
- Assist and troubleshoot employee production issues relating to drawing and process interpretation and proper measurement techniques.
- Promote high expectations, efficiency, and safety in the work environment.
- Operate measuring equipment according to established procedures.
- Identify irregularities in parts and non-conformance to quality standards.
- Prepare and manage non-conformance reports as per written quality policies and procedures.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of non-conformance issues.
- Assist in the creation, implementation, and monitoring of ISO 9001 policies and procedures.
- Liaise with customers and vendors regarding quality issues.
- Be prepared to report to President at any time on the current status of the project under your control and communicate critical information to coworkers.
