Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 10+ years' work experience in a machine and fabrication shop environment or engineering department of a manufacturer with heavy machining capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and accurately read various measuring tools.
  • Understanding of machinery and equipment and material tolerances.
  • Solid understanding of quality control and working to quality standards.
  • Good time management, problem-solving skills, initiative, and commitment to tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with training of new and existing employees on proper usage of measuring equipment and ISO Quality Policies and Procedures.
  • Inspect all machined and fabricated jobs to ensure compliance with drawing, process, and customer specifications.
  • Monitor in-process jobs throughout the shop to prevent non-conformance issues.
  • Inspect items received from a sub-contracted process prior to the release to customer or to the next process in order to ensure compliance with drawing, process, and customer specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain quality documents such as but not limited to certificates of compliance or dimensional reports as per customer requirements.
  • Maintain a calibration system for all company-owned and employee-owned measuring instruments.
  • Assist and troubleshoot employee production issues relating to drawing and process interpretation and proper measurement techniques.
  • Promote high expectations, efficiency, and safety in the work environment.
  • Operate measuring equipment according to established procedures.
  • Identify irregularities in parts and non-conformance to quality standards.
  • Prepare and manage non-conformance reports as per written quality policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of non-conformance issues.
  • Assist in the creation, implementation, and monitoring of ISO 9001 policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with customers and vendors regarding quality issues.
  • Be prepared to report to President at any time on the current status of the project under your control and communicate critical information to coworkers.
