Job summary

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in a machine and fabrication shop environment or the engineering department of a manufacturer with heavy machining capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret blue print drawings and accurately read measuring tools.
  • Solid understanding of quality control and working to quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect all machined and fabricated jobs to ensure compliance with drawing, process and customer specifications.
  • Monitor in-process jobs to prevent non-conformance issues.
  • Inspect items from subcontracted processes before release to customer or next process.
  • Prepare and maintain quality documents such as certificates of compliance or dimensional reports.
  • Maintain a calibration system for all measuring instruments.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production issues related to drawing interpretation and measurement techniques.
  • Promote safety, efficiency and high expectations in the work environment.
  • Operate measuring equipment according to established procedures.
  • Identify irregularities and non-conformances, and prepare non-conformance reports.
  • Assist in investigation and resolution of non-conformance issues.
  • Assist in ISO 9001 policy creation, implementation and monitoring.
  • Liaise with customers and vendors on quality issues.
  • Report to President on project status and communicate critical information to coworkers.
  • Assist training of new and existing employees on measuring equipment and ISO policies.

  • Inspect all machined and fabricated jobs to ensure compliance with drawing, process and customer specifications

  • Monitor in-process jobs throughout the shop to prevent non-conformance issues

  • Inspect items received from a sub-contracted process prior to the release to customer or to the next process in order to ensure compliance with drawing, process and customer specifications

  • Prepare and maintain quality documents such as but not limited to certificates of compliance or dimensional reports as per customer requirements

  • Maintain a calibration system for all company owned and employee owned measuring instruments

  • Assist and troubleshoot employee production issues relating to drawing and process interpretation and proper measurement techniques

  • Promote high expectations, efficiency and safety in the work environment

  • Operating measuring equipment according to established procedures

  • Identify irregularities in parts and non-conformance to quality standards

  • Prepare and manage non-conformance reports as per written quality policies and procedures

  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of non-conformance issues

  • Assist in the creation, implementation and monitoring of ISO 9001 policies and procedures

  • Liaise with customers and vendors regarding quality issues

  • Be prepared to report to President at any time on the current status of the project under your control and communicate critical information to coworkers

  • Assist with training of new and existing employees on proper usage of measuring equipment and ISO Quality Policies and Procedures


Qualifications


  • 10+ years of work experience in a machine and fabrication shop environment or engineering department of a manufacturer with heavy machining capabilities. Interpret blue print drawings and accurately read various measuring tools. Understanding of machinery and equipment and material tolerances. Solid understanding of quality control and working to quality standards.
