Job summary

Granite DRC invites applications for a machinist role in our mining-related operations in Quebec. The position requires the ability to read blueprints, set up machinery, and perform precision work on marble or granite components. On-site work with tight deadlines and a focus on quality is essential.

The candidate should have 1 year to less than 2 years of experience, and hold a secondary high school certificate or equivalent experience. Strong attention to detail and independence are valued here.

Qualifications

• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with CNC and conventional machine tools.

Responsibilities

• Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
• Repair machine tools and parts.
• Set up and adjust production machineries/tools.
• Fit and assemble components to close tolerances.
• Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
• Document and report deviations from specifications.
• Verify dimensions of parts with micrometers/calipers.
• Set up and operate CNC and conventional machine tools.
• Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite.
