Kelly is currently hiring for a Machinist Maintenance Planner with Dow Chemical at the Fort Saskatchewan location in Alberta - onsite role.

Job Description:
- Creates job packages from work order scope, including all necessary information regarding labor, materials, and services to ensure safe, effective, and efficient work execution.
- Requires broad technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a range of activities.
- May serve as an informal resource for less experienced team members.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Prepares job packages and inputs plans into SAP, indicating required resources, materials, and services.
- Identifies task activities necessary for job execution and determines materials, tools, and equipment needed.
- Gathers safety information and requirements to ensure safe task performance.
- Supports Maintenance Procedure Use Policy by ensuring job packages include procedures or are listed on the Procedure Exemption list before release. Checks that all procedures include hazard assessments.
- Acts as a technical resource during procedure creation and review. Creates, updates, and manages job procedures and checklists, including initiating Management of Change (MOC) processes when needed.
- Uses feedback from field personnel to optimize work plans.
- Reviews work orders for technical completeness and returns incomplete work orders to the gatekeeper.
- Performs field checks as needed.
- Creates job packages for field work or shop fabrication/repair work.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent plus a Journeyman Certificate, Red Seal Designation, or a two-year degree (or higher) in a discipline related to machinist work.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, including journeyman, maintenance, manufacturing, or project management roles.
- Prior maintenance field planning experience is preferred.
- Ability to work safely in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at heights, and use PPE and safety equipment comfortably. Willingness to undergo training on proper equipment use.
