Job summary

NPAworldwide in Kingston, Ontario is seeking a skilled Machinist to operate and set up manual and computer programmed machines, ensuring parts meet drawings and tolerances. The ideal candidate holds a Machinist Certificate of Qualification with 3+ years in a machine shop environment, including experience with large horizontal and/or vertical mills.

Heidenhain CNC experience is an asset, as is the ability to interpret blueprints and measuring tools.

Qualifications

• Machinist Certificate of Qualification is required.
• 3+ years' work experience in a machine shop environment with large horizontal and/or vertical mills.
• Ability to interpret blue print drawings and accurately read various measuring tools.
• Understanding of machinery and equipment and material tolerances.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities: Operate and set up various manual and computer programmed machines. Operate equipment according to established procedures. Troubleshoot minor problems with fixtures or tooling. Change tools, inserts and adjust offsets as required to maintain tolerances. Check own parts against blue print drawings in various stages of production. Identify irregularities in parts and non conformance to quality standards.

Rotating shifts.

Qualifications

Machinist Certificate of Qualification is required. 3+ years' work experience in a machine shop environment with large horizontal and/or vertical mills. Heidenhain CNC control experience is an asset.
